Our church community seeks to proclaim God's love by meeting the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of those far and near by serving locally and globally in word and deed.  We are committed to serving our local community in and around Williamstown, North Adams, and the surrounding counties, and we hope you will join us in serving. As part of the broader Christian community, we are also committed to financially supporting ministries and missionaries regionally and abroad.

Local Missions

Below is a list of local ministries that we regularly partner with and support. We encourage you to find ways to personally get involved.

Food Bank

The Food Pantry at CBC has been in operation for over 20 years and serves approximately 100 families from the church and community. We drive to the Western Mass Food Bank in Hatfield every month to pick up our allotment of free food and purchase other food and products for 19¢ a pound. The food is then boxed into individual units at the church to be picked up by recipients that afternoon. People can contact the church Monday through Thursday between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to arrange to receive a unit of food, for information on the next delivery date, or if additional food is needed during the month (a limited amount of dried or canned goods are available outside the monthly delivery). Pickup is usually the third Wednesday of each month from 1:00 to 3:00.  We are unable to help anyone before 1:00 as we pack boxes. (Contact: Phyllis Babcock)

Nursing Home

Our Nursing Home Ministry Team leads Sunday afternoon worship services at Sweetbrook Care Center for those who are no longer able to attend local church services. (Contact: Douglas Duncan)

New Direction Pregnancy Center
New Direction Women’s Center is located in Pittsfield and is a resource for women experiencing unplanned pregnancies. Contact New Direction about opportunities to serve.

Instead of hosting the annual banquet to gather support for the New Direction Women’s Center, we are asking church and parish communities to pray! The Center is supporting a global vigil called, “40 Days for Life”. Please join us in praying between September 23rd and November 1st that women would call the New Direction 24 hour hotline (413-242-4959) or just drop in at the Center at 25 First St in Pittsfield, so they can be loved, supported, and guided toward ways to maintain their precious gifts of life throughout their pregnancies and including up to two years after birth.

The following devotionals are available: https://www.40daysforlife.com/resources-devotionals.aspx

As well as this 40 day prayer guide called Grace for America  by Every Home for Christ:

Jeremiah 1:5 says, "Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you."
